There are several ways of transfer to and from the airport. You can take a shuttle bus, taxi or public bus from the airport. Platanus Travel Agency has bus lines (shuttle) from Dubrovnik airport to the centre with buses departing after arrival of every regular flight. One-way ticket is around 6 EUR (45 HRK) and it will take you to Dubrovnik centre (Pile gate) and to Main bus station from where you can catch a public transportation bus (or taxi) to your hotel.
The bus from the airport will leave you at Pile gate (next to the Old city) or at the Main bus station, but if you are staying at the Conference hotels, you need to go to Babin kuk (area of Dubrovnik where the Conference venue is). From Pile gate you can take a taxi or bus line number 6 that will take you to Valamar Lacroma hotel (Conference venue).
Public bus transportation is available depending on your arrival time. Bus lines 11, 27, 38 will transport you from the airport directly to the city centre from which you can take recommended bus lines to Conference venue.
Taxi stand is located next to the Terminal building "B" (Domestic & International Arrivals). You can use local taxi service from the airport to the city (about 35-50 EUR) or UBER application (about 30-35 EUR). The distance between the airport and the city is 22 km.
Distance from the Conference venue to the city centre is 6 km so you will need to use a taxi or public bus transportation for getting around in Dubrovnik. You can also consider renting a car, but this is not really necessary. You can consider buying a Dubrovnik card as it includes both bus rides and free entrance to some of Dubrovnik's sights and more. Public transportation: Public buses (Libertas company) are orange in colour and they can take you to any part of the city. Tickets can be bought on any kiosk, on the bus, on hotel receptions and some tourist agencies. Important: If you are buying a ticket on the bus, bring exact change with you as drivers are not able to return the needed change. Each single ticket is valid for an hour since its first use for an unlimited number of rides within the city. Ticket costs 12 HRK (cca 1,6 EUR) at the kiosk and 15 HRK (cca 2 EUR) in the bus. Daily ticket is 30 HRK (cca 4 EUR) and „P” ticket for 20 rides is 150 HRK (cca 20 EUR).
The best option for getting to/from the conference venue (it’s in an area of Dubrovnik called Babin kuk) is bus no. 6 as it departs every 15 minutes and connects Babin kuk to Pile gate bus station (by the Old town). See the buses timetable here. You can also use buses no. 5 and 7. There is a bus station near the Valamar Lacroma hotel (Conference venue).
Taxi: Finding a taxi in Dubrovnik is not a problem, you can use UBER, EKO taxi or the local taxi services. Drive from Pile gate (centre) to the Conference venue with UBER service should cost around 90 HRK/cca 12 EUR. If you are using a local taxi without the option to calculate the price through an application, before starting the ride, ask for the approximate price and make sure the meter is running.
